It’s been far too long since my last entry. Sometimes it’s really hard to find time to write a blog post, but I hope to make it a more regular thing.
I’ve been very busy this last month working on lots of new things. One of my goals for this year was to make better dolls that had more posability. I succeeded in making my first fully posable doll a few months ago and since then I’ve made 5 more. After making a few of these new dolls I also made some improvements to my doll’s overall size and shape. I love the elongated look of this one and I’ve decided to continue with this shape for all my future dolls.
In addition to that I’ve been working hard at improving my costuming abilities. I’ve updated my dress patterns to accentuate the elongated look I’ve achieved. I also purchased a ton of stretchy striped fabric and designed undershirts as well as tights. And, one of my favorite projects so far: I’ve started making doll shoes!! This project has been so much fun. I bought some leather, did some researching and came up with a few patterns that fit my doll’s feet. I think they look great!!
I’m also going to start incorporating more needle felted work. Needle felting was my first introduction to the doll world and it still holds a special place in my heart. This is Petunia and her teddy bear, Mr. Cuddles that I needle felted by hand. They’re currently still available for adoption.
Next, I plan to learn to make hats, cuz what dolly doesn’t want a lovely hat to go with her ensemble?
